All members remember to feel free to post blogs, forum discussions, pics, vids etc. This site is for everyone to enjoy and use. We all look forward to reading about peoples ride's or checking out some good photo's of new discovered trails.

With Guisborough situated on the edge of the North York Moors the area offers miles and miles of scenic moorland routes, excellent forest trails and terrain to suit all types of mountain biking. But please remember you dont have to be from or Guisborough to become a member of MTBG.

MTBG would like to wish all members a Happy New Year!

2010 will be a promising year for MTBG.
January will see Guisborough's Black route repairs started with regular dig days in association with Singletraction and the Forestry Commision. The first bit of work is likely to include drainage, berms and North Shore added to an exsisting section. This is only the start for Guisborough's Trail Center with modifications, re-routing, new sections plus many more plans all in the process for the coming months and years. With the help of MTBG members this was made possible. Further announcments will appear on the website very soon.

The regular Tuesday night ride will continue along with a monthly group ride either to a trail center or a well renound trail loop such as The Dales, The Lakes etc. As the weather gets better over the coming months the start of the weekend Epic rides will begin. The Epic rides usually cover between 30-60 miles taking in some of North Yorkshire's best single track, dual track, forest and moorland trails.

The Epic rides help with training for Mountain Bike Marathon's which some members take part in the Summer months. This year there is a lot of interest from many of the members willing to take part in a marathon. With a choice of 25, 50, 75 and 100k Marathon's all in the same event there is a distance for everyone to aim for. Dates for the Chainreaction Marathon events will be posted shortly.

As MTB Guisborough gets bigger and better this year will see new features to the website. Links for Singletraction and the trail building side of the site will appear. We already have excellent blogs from the likes of Makem Steve, brilliant photos from all members including Doc B, Tony Harker, Mick C and many others. MTBG also has Mark's quality and hard work on the graphics and design. And we can never forget the often funny adventures of 'E' Squadron that are a regular post.

MTBG will continue to welcome all new members and continue to build some very good friendships amongst ourselves.

The Tuesday Night Ride will now be a regular group ride every week, more and more members are turning out for this popular ride. The ride takes in some of the best natural trails in Guisborough Forest and surrounding areas. As the nights draw in the rides are spent desending some of the best rewarding single track with the lights blazing! please see the events page for details.
