The End of Week Ride is aimed at new riders wishing to find their way around the local forest and moors, also those who may feel a little intimidated at joining a ride where they are unsure of their capabilities, and those that maybe just want to sample mountain biking,
It isn't an official ride, just a few enthusiasts that get together to do what they love, ride a mountain bike and have some fun. A reasonable level of fitness is a must.
The routes are XC, official fire roads & bridle ways, with lots of climbs and a little easy single track, decided at the start of the ride.
The ride day will vary between Sat. & Sun. from week to week due to work commitments, and the start time too.
As the year progresses, the rides will move further a field, including the North Yorks Moors, Yorkshire Dales, Lake District and some of the Trail Parks and other Forests.

Comment by Simon on February 24, 2013 at 15:17 Great ride again today. Very good route which helped get the breath back before the next climb. Packed snow made for a great riding surface which is much better then the dreaded MUD !
Thanks Everyone

Comment by PAUL HORNSEY on February 24, 2013 at 13:28 sorry for disappearing on everyone today, after a slight equipment failure and dropping behind i decided to go at my own pace and do my own thing.
I heard at the start that there was going to be some big climbs today that even the regulars struggle with and as i struggle with the climb at the start of the tail I thought it best not to hold anyone up.
the problem i have is damaged ankles which is why i started cycling, if i came to a climb that i struggled with i wouldn't be able to get off and walk it without considerable pain so thought i'd duck out of this ride until I get to a level of fitness where i know i won't have to walk.
martin, i'll get your tyres back to you next weekend as i am back up in aberdeen tomorrow and should have new new ones ready by then
catch you all again at some point
paul
