Hi all, I'm new to the site but I've ridden in Guisborough woods for a while now. I was hoping someone might be able to give me a 6 figure grid reference on the OS map for the woods for the start of the chute? I'd be interested in joining a couple rides as well to get shown some of the unofficial trails if that would be cool with anyone?

Have a look at www.singletraction.co.uk for a gpx of the red route. Other than that strava is your best bet to find the best bits.

Don't think its very popular these days. Not sure how much use it actually gets so may be overgrown.

Ah sweet thanks for that. So its a push up that hill. Just after cafe? I've walked up there before but couldn't see where it starts.

Hi Elliot. The Chute has all but been destroyed by logging in the area. However it is just below Highcliffe. Turn off left just as you hit the tarmac road when heading up from the xmas tree carpark.

It's been about 5-6 years since I was into mountain biking, so I sold my enduro last year. After using my hybrid to commute to work on recently, I'm going to get another bike to hit the trails on. After watching a few YouTube vids, can anyone tell me how to get to the beginning of The Chute....??

Weather was good apart from the downpour at commondale, the climb up the road was murder and ended up GOAPing up the hill. Rest of the ride as great with only a couple of sketchy moments.

I find Orange/t-mobile generally is ok. There may be some week areas in the dips, but I can not speak for the other networks. O2 doesn't usually work in towns, so I guess little chance of it doing so on the moors. That's why I ditched them.
