MTB Guisborough

Local Guisborough & Moor Trail Conditions

With the frequently asked question regards current trail conditions, I believe there maybe a need to set the ball rolling on a trail conditions discussion/report which can be continually update by fellow MTBG members. Hopefully this will prove useful if frequently updated.

Aim being to provide informative information, without giving away the exact locations of any natural off piste free ride lines!

For example, Format to maybe remain along similar lines as:

  • Location
  • Date/time
  • Terrain ridden i.e. fire roads, Red/blue route, local moors, natural free ride lines.
  • Ground riding conditions
  • Weather
  • Enjoyment rating 0 to 5
  • Pictures?
  • Further information

Could also look into a simple traffic light gauge meter for quick daily reference of Guis red route, as seen on other officially marked trail routes.

Please feel free to keep the ball rolling and help inform fellow members on current riding conditions, understandably we all have different opinions regards trail conditions but it's a start.

Best regards

MTBGTeam

Rode last night, a touch under 17 miles.  Route:

Old train lines from PVC, they were good with the odd puddle here and there.

PVC to Shadows and Shadows, very sloppy mud, unrideable, maybe due to worn tyre and no granny ring :-)

Guisborough fireroads around the forest, past Highcliffe and towards the East of the forest, mix of snow, ice and mud, but ridable.

Old train lines running to Slapworth, all good with the odd puddle and touch of surface mud.

Urban paths out the back of Guisborough, near the Priory and back of town. Watch for dog eggs!

Snap on the strained retinas!

+ Tree down on Gods drop, just after you meet God and just back from the slab on Rock and Roll.

Nice one And, good idea stops everyone guessing and will be a good aid to route selection. Also glad to see you changed the text colour my eyes were buggered trying to read it lol

Ok just to add a bit more the main track heading from little roseberry to gribdale still has a few snow drifts that are unrideable also Santa's grotto has a large amount of trees down making it impossible to access.
Hope that helps.
