XC Racing info

I would like to start XC racing, preferably local to the north east. Im 14 so would be racing in youth. Anybody know where I could enter any races or have and info? Thanks

Hi Max, I've just put details confirming British Cycling 2013 North East XC MTB series.

8 races within the North East area, local event @ Guisborough Forest  21 June.

Yeah that sounds about right. You wont need to worry about a licence unless your going to do more serious stuff and want to collect points. See how you get on to start with and if you enjoy it maybe plan a bigger more serious season next year.

You can become a british cycling member and get some discount on the NE XC races

Thanks for the replies been speaking to someon from British Cycling NE XC and I'm able to enter races without a licence and if I like racing I could buy a licence for more races with national points I think he said :)

Check out the British Cycling NE XC Leauge. Sound like it should be right up your street. Some of the guys here did it last year and really enjoyed it.
